Mandatory Commercial Recycling - AB 341

Business and public entities which generate more than four (4) cubic yards of solid waste per week and multifamily residential dwellings that have five units or more are required to are required to recycle.

Businesses shall take one or any combination of the following actions in order to reuse, recycle, compost, or otherwise divert commercial solid waste from disposal:

  • Self-haul • Subscribe to a hauler(s)
  • Arrange for pickup of recyclables
  • Subscribe to a recycling service that may include mixed-waste processing that yields diversion results comparable to source separation. Mandatory Commercial Recycling FAQs - CalRecycle

Construction and Demolition Waste - Cal Green

Per Cal Green Title 24 Section 11 all construction projects requiring a building permit are required to divert solid waste generated by construction or demolition.
