There are a number of ways to get involved in wildfire mitigation and forest health efforts in Alpine County. Here are some of the groups working on these activities.
Alpine Fire Safe Council - The Alpine Fire Safe Council has been assisting local landowners for two decades in learning about defensible space and implementing community fuels mitigation projects.
Alpine Biomass Collaborative - The Alpine Biomass Collaborative facilitates discussions on forest health and fuels treatment projects across the region from experts and researchers in an effort to provide context to local forest management activities.
Alpine Watershed Group - The Alpine Watershed Group is focused on watershed and forest health issues. They are currently working on capacity building in Alpine County and helping fund fuels treatments in Hope Valley.
Alpine Trails Association - The Alpine Trails Association is focused on improving and maintaining the wonderful recreation opportunities Alpine County has to offer. They have volunteered on multiple tree planting and restoration efforts in the wake of the Tamarack Fire.
