The Bear Valley Community is on west slope of the Sierra's in southwestern Alpine County. It is a high mountain community, with the Bear Valley Ski Resort and approximately 80 homes above and around a small town.
Wildfire mitigation efforts in Bear Valley are spearheaded by Alpine County and the local homeowners association, Bear Valley Resident Incorporated Inc. BVRI has raised a significant amount of money internally to address wildfire risks on common areas within the community and to spread neighborhood awareness about wildfire risks.
