Tri-County Technical Advisory Committee (Tri-TAC)
The Tri-County Technical Advisory Committee (Tri-TAC) was established under a joint powers agreement between the Counties of El Dorado, Alpine and Amador in October 1979. The purpose of the agreement was to provide coordinated planning efforts along the Highway 88 corridor, with specific emphasis regarding the ski resort development at Kirkwood. Tri-TAC consists of the Planning Director or his or her designee from each of the three counties. This was expanded in 1985 to include representatives of the Eldorado National Forest, Toiyabe National Forest, and the Kirkwood Meadows Public Utilities District as ex-officio members.
The Committee usually meets on the second Friday of each month virtually. The meetings are subject to the Brown Act and are open to the public.
